I've been through the Bush in Wagga Wagga, the city of Concrete in Melbourne, the City of Churches in Adelaide, the beautiful underground Houses at Coober Pedy, beautiful red sand in Uluru, with hot and dry weather, to Humid Green and beautiful Landscapes in Cairns, to finally go to pristine beaches through the east coast.
I will tell now how all of those days were.
Day 1&2: Melbourne
After a busy morning of finishing packing i had to go to the train station, were i met my Oldies, Konstantin, Theresa, Luise, Jun, Tom, Ricardo and Vicky. On the bus were the people from Canberra and South East NSW. We were interviewed for the newspaper and started the best 22 days. As soon as we took the bus we started talking with the other students, is incredible but, exchange students can be quite good friends after just minutes talking, we kept talking all the way round, it was definitely amazing. The same night we met the other exchange Students, we were 35 in total.
The next morning we went to downtown Melbourne. Melbourne is a beautiful city, has a beautiful old architecture and many parks as well. Since you get there you can feel the Vibes that the city has, it had good shops, some touristic places, like Victoria's Market, a huge market were i went to buy Souvenirs, this market is Harrod's style.
After that i went ahead to Melbourne Cathedral, a beautiful Gothic Style Architecture, on the inside is even more beautiful, it has windows designs with paintings, all colorful and precise.
Hours after i went to Eureka tower, and saw Melbourne from more than 200 meters above. The city is even more beautiful. I saw some landmarks, like Melbourne Cricket Ground. Definitely a nice city.
Day 3&4: Adelaide
After a long day driving we arrived at Adelaide, i saw some parts of the city, but not many. I saw the lovely beach at night, and for my surprise, it was warm. That fact just put me happy, and made me love Adelaide more. The day after we went to Adelaide downtown, a day of fun with friends. We went to the shops and to parks. We were bored so we decided to do something fun, ASK FOR MONEY. It was fun.
Adelaide is such a nice city, The architechture remind me (A BIT) to the oldstyle buildings in New York, old and tall, good vibes and modern. A city that i would visit again.
Day 5&6: Going to the Center, Gladstone & Coober Pedy
Gladstone, we arrived in a Prison, surprise for who haven't rea the itinerary, myself incluided. ;)
It was awesome, this old prison around 100 years old, with a Tower and a big yard. We were around untill the night came, and it was time for a NIGHT GHOST TOUR! it was awesome, they took us throughout all the prison, watching the Toilets, the Aboriginal Prison, the Maximum Security Area, the Nursery and more, with these Creepy stories, fun night.
Before Coober Pedy, we stopped in Island Salt Lake and took photos with our flags.
Coober Pedy, and we arrived to the underground and Opal city, it's awesome how the houses and hotels are built underground, a nice little town to see. We watched the Opal history. It was Incredible. The opal comes from the Sylicone in Australian Sand, that goes through rocks and millions of millions of years, is converted into Opal, a nice piece of Jewellery.
Day 7&8: Kings Canyon
Kings Canyon, finally saw this pure red sand. We were prepared for the long walk up at the canyon. we played waterpolo that day, prepared for the long next day.
The next day was time to go to Kings Canyon, such a magnificent place. One of the most impressive things on Safari, i would definitely recommend this place to visit, the nature, colours everything is nice, an enjoyable walk. It has Rivers across the canyon, and also trees between the rocks.
Rocks beautifully shaped by the air and the years gives Kings Canyon the beauty.
Day 8&9: Uluru & Kata Tjuta
Uluru was since i was a kid a place i wanted to Visit, remember watching these amazing photos and the colours and just loved it! and it was like that. I arrived to Ayers Rock and had some free time before watching the sunset. I arrived and a bunch of people were there, probably more than a hundred. But for a reason, Uluru was magnificent, my favorite part of Safari, Watching the contrast of colours how they change, the clouds, the sun, the green grass, everything.
The next day we went to walk around the base, when you get to Uluru you can feel those vibes, you can imagine the Aboriginal people, being around, making ceremonies, you can feel that aura. Also you can feel the wilderness that this place would have had before, Kangaroos, and Dingos in the wild, is magnificent. When i was going through the Rock, i saw some Aboriginal paintings, Beautiful Shaped rocks, also Holes in there, one of the famous ones, is the Brain of the Aboriginal, indeed, it looks like a head with the brain inside, is amazing, when i was looking Uluru, i realized how amazing is, it was a viviv blue sky, an intense Red, and the nice green in the plants around, the environment makes it beautiful.
I went to Kata Tjuta after the walk in Uluru, and it was nice, Kata Tjuta are several Rocks together, it's really good, it has a way through the middle, where it has some "river" and plants, a nice place for a walk.
Day 9-10: Alice Springs & First night in Cairns:
We had to drive 4 hours to Alice Springs, so we had one big stop, and guess what we did? Riding a Camel! It was a nice experience, Australia imported Hundreds of Camels from Middle East and India, the reproduction was that big, that there are thousands of Camels in the wild, as well as Cows. The riding was in couple so my friend from Sweden and me rode it. After we rode the camel, we ATE A DELICIOUS CAMEL BURGER!
When we got to Alice Sprins we had some free time to be around and settle our tents, we went to the pool and had free time.
The next morning we went to the School of Air, is a school that offers Distance Classes, but definitely in another level, it just works for people with a certain distance in a Surrounding Area, that goes from 500 km, to as far as Papua New Guinea. They have Radios, Text Book, Video Cameras, Computers, all is given to the Student, the expenditure in each student is Around 15 000 $, with just a cooperation from the Family of 80 $, incredible how much money does the government put on education.
After that we went downtown and bought Aboriginal Art and more, is a nice little town, perfect for a Day.
The same night we had this Reptile Show, Blue Tongue Lizards, Shingleback, Lizard, Brown Python, and more, really nice and funny.
We had to Fly to Cairns next day for the Rest of the Fun.
Day 11-12: Cairns, Great Barrier Reef:
Cairns! Definitely a tourist city, nice humid weather, hot, reminded me the humid Weather of Lima. The first day we had a Tour Outside Cairns, Lake Barrine, Cathedral Fig Tree, and Millaa Millaa Falls. Amazing, heaps of fun and awesome landscapes.
The next day was the big day, the day that almost all of us were waiting, GREAT BARRIER REEF, we got on the ferry and we went ahead to the Reef, approx an hour and a half, was a tough ride, the boat just bounced and bounced, but we were singing and having a good time, we arrived and we did the Diving, it was amazing, awesome. You can see the colourful fishes, nice corals, different shapes, and colours, big, little ones, really diverse and impressive. I also did snorkeling and was awesome. The Best part of Safari.
Day 13&14: Airlie and Whiteheaven beach
We arrived to Airlie, a nice town and we went around town at night, prepared for the big day tomorrow. The next day we went to the ferry Station aheading to Whiteheaven Beach, it was about 45 minutes way, enjoyed with music, dancing, and singing, AWESOME. We arrived there and saw the Pristine Beach and the nice tropical green, it was cool, was a pitty that the weather wasn't good that day. We had fun snorkeling and just playing around the beach, funny day.
Day 15-16: Rockhampton & Coolum
Long drive days, but nice, we went to the farm in Rockhampton and had some afternoon tea, saw Kangaroos, Camels, and more animals, was really nice. The same night we had Karaoke, heaps of fun that night ;) The next day we went to Coolum, and enjoyed the nice beach and going around ;)
Day 17: Gold Coast
Awesome day, i went to the Theme Park with my friends went to awesome Rollercoasters and more!
Day 18-20: Byron Bay & Port Macquarie
Byron Bay! one of my favourites parts of Safari, a nice bohemian city, that just tells how good its nightlife is. The first night we had Fish&Chips on the sea, AMAZING. We learned how to surf in an awesome day, i got to stand up, and had a lot of fun falling. After that i went shopping around Byron, awesome shops, good clothes, and nice ice cream and coffee shops around. Loved that city!!
After Byron we went to Por Macquarie to the Koala hospital, and saw Koalas for the first time, they're beautiful!!! it was really exciting, but we didn't get to touch them. In the afternoon we went to town and the nice beach and just hang around waiting for SYDNEY!
Day 21-22: SYDNEY <3
The big day, Sydney, many of my friends were waiting for Sydney, so it was really exciting. We settled on a Caravan Park outside the city, and enjoyed of the nice beach. It reminded me Peru so much. we Were playing with the sand and with the Footy Ball, what an awesome day!
The next day we went to the YHA in central Sydney. We went on a Speedboat around the harbour watching all the landmarks AMAZING! After that we went shopping around Pitt Street. and we went to Sydney Harbour at night, Beautiful, Sydney is as in Pictures, it's amazing.
The next day it was time to say goodbye, time to say goodbye to this 34 amazing people, made friendships i will NEVER FORGET. Had the best trip i've done in my life! Definitely the best part of my exchange. I went to more places in Australia than a lot of Australians. Had the opportunity to watch the beautiful sunset in Uluru, the magnificent walk at Kings Canyon, the Diving in the Barrier Reef, Surfing in Byron Bay, Sightseeing in Sydney, and more. It has showed me how beautiful Australia is, and why did i choose this country.
That's the way how i finnish this post, saying Thank You, to my Parents first, for agreeing and the support of going on Safari, as well all my friends on Safari, i will never forget you, i have 34 cities to visit now, hope to see you again...
